Senator Edward Kennedy: “I dream things that never were and say why not.”

“The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die.”

Edward “Ted” Kennedy 1932-2009

What a welcome in heaven there must be for the youngest Kennedy son!

I am saddened that America has lost Edward Kennedy, a giant in American politics. Senator Edward Kennedy was an advocate for everyone in America achieving the American Dream. He fought so the poor, minorities, immigrants, the sick, America’s armed forces…benefit as much from the Bill of Rights as the wealthy and well connected.

What Senator Edward Kennedy said about his brother Senator Robert F. Kennedy applies to the life he himself lived:

“Some men see things as they are and say why.

I dream things that never were and say why not.”

I love U.S. government & politics and I love this country with all my heart. Sounds cheesy but, no matter the setbacks in life, the promise that is America transcends because of those who advocate on behalf of the marginalized. That has been my experience.
