Adobe Photoshop Simulation
Google Sketchup Simulation
I really want us to develop real estate for youth. I’ve written about that often and have finally created designs that speak to this.
My Photoshop and Sketchup simulations envision a unique space on the abandoned gas station site on Springfield Avenue. The property is located across from the Maplewood police station located at 1618 Springfield Avenue.
The intent of this simulation is to redesign this site to include a retail business that would contribute to the township’s tax base and simultaneously engage younger residents by providing them a location to shop and also gather together. The Sketchup design is of a mixed use development that includes a retail store, restaurant, offices and housing. It also allows for increased pedestrian access through sidewalks and barriers that limit car access.
It is important that a retail business be relocated here that younger residents will purchase from. The retail store featured in this simulation, Abercrombie and Fitch (and also Hollister) is a popular choice among a cross section of younger residents of all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
